So for those of you who have been following along with Empire of Stars, you know that Jace and Khoth are about to meet with new aliens in the Alliance and ask them to join their crew!
I'm looking for help in designing these crew mates!

You can, of course, be as imaginative as you like! I may take part or all of what suggest. I am looking to be inspired and I'm sure that you won't let me down.
No matter how detached Erasmus may act, they are always interested in small cute things. And a love of crystals and minerals.
NAME OF CHARACTER: Knucker (The K is silent)
SPECIES NAME: The Gough (pronounced like Van Gogh)
HOME PLANET: Oo-Gough (literal meaning of the Gough)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: The Gough are standing-rectangular shaped creatures standing at 7 feet tall and 4 & 1/2 feet wide as adults with perforations that hide retractable arms(look like 6 foot long nunchucks) that slide out of their body like fists. They retract when not in battle. An adult Gough can have as many as 150 of these arms. They have no eyes or mouths. They use the perforations to sense objects in front of them. In the very center of their bodies, is their "brain" which allows them to communicate with others of their kind via sweat glands. So while they don't speak, they do give out scents that their "brains" can read to show emotions such as guilt, joy, fear, courage, their age- by how much their sweat smells- and other general ideas. These perforations also allow them to distinguish different colors so it would be like watching abstract art move without getting the gist of what's going on.
Knucker is short for Knuckle Fighter. Knucker saw a movie with martial arts and was sad to see that humans were hitting the wing chuns(the standing wooden poles usually used in martial arts movies) which is why it dislikes humans. But if course, our hero knows how to explain and ease tensions.
PERSONALITY: Knucker is always ready to fight. But, is a lover not a fighter at heart. Knucker early on encountered a puppy video and absolutely fell in love with dogs that it has a hard time not watching videos of cute puppies doing cute things.
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF! Knucker is a sucker for it's puppy companion Piggles.
Also, the Moai of Easter Island- the standing stone monoliths with faces on them, are actually Gough that had died and were buried on Earth thousands of years ago because it was much less inhabited by humans back then and Earth was considered only the best land for the greatest warriors. Knucker doesn't know that they were carved into by the inhabitants of Easter Island. So don't tell it or the rest of the Gough.
Lastly, apparently because of the scent glands- often times it will smell like different foods for Jace, and end up messing up the Osiris' hard work to get Jace eating "healthy" space food. Something the Osiris didn't know (gasp). Which leads to trouble because Jace wants to communicate with Knucker but needs to give off scents to do it and be able to smell Knucker, and Osiris wants to take over talking to Knucker but can't because it can't sweat, a problem for Gehenna too. Happiness- which Knucker finds watching puppy videos- or watching the puppy Knucker has, gives off the smell of candy, which means that Osiris is constantly trying to distract Knucker and keep it from giving off scents unless absolutely necessary- especially during meal-time.
Name of Character: Ayla Cale Ashantie
Species Name: Dhampirian
Home planet: Maiyonika
Physical Description: If you are one of the lucky or unlucky ones to be a Dhampirian, the physical description is just a basis, because physical genetics play a part. Most Dhamparian, look like a cross between a Vampire and Elf (In this instance A Drow). They are immortal, for the most part and the only way they can die is to have their head cut off. They have Vampire fangs (That retract and look human), Speed, and Strength. Along with this, all Dhampirian have Elf ears (Some long, some short), and cat like reflexes and eyes. They walk with an almost graceful glide or as if they are taking a stroll in the park.
Physical description: Ayla is 5' tall, 120 lbs, athletically built, has extremely long mousey blonde hair that she keeps either in a ponytail, braid, or braided bun, and she has cobalt blue cat eyes.
Personality: Her abilities are that she can use magic and shapeshift She was emotionally and physically abused by her siblings because of her Dhampirian blood (Her family members were either Vampire or Elf, not both like a Dhampirian) Because of this she has a tough exterior, she is a master at hiding her emotions. Being a royal and the next in line to the throne (much to the chagrin to her family. How did she become the next in line. There is a special sword that ONLY the next in line can summon and use), she could have had someone teach her how to fight but the guards gave her a wide birth, and some of her family members (the ones that weren't abusing her), didn't even acknowledge her existance. She taught herself how to fight, though this looks more like a brawl than an actual marshal art. She is, however very Samurai like (Bushido Code) but when push comes to shove she isn't afraid to fight.
Special Alien Stuff!:
* Some Dhampirians, can use magic and some can't.
* But ALL Dhampirians can make or summon what they need from their homeward. For example if a Dhampirian needed clothes (as long as they are a Maiyonakin natural product), they can summon them by thinking and using visualization (size,, shape, color, length ect). They can do this anywhere, meaning if they were away from their homeward they could still summon what they needed.
* Some Dhampirians can shapeshift into any animal they see
* Some can teleport anywhere as long as they have physically been there.
* All Dhampirians blood has healing abilities (which at first extremely tastes horrible but then morphs into the most delectable thing the injured being enjoys to eat most.
NAME OF CHARACTER: Miaows
SPECIES NAME Nocere (species is elemental)
HOME PLANET Nocent. The planet is a Mercenary Planet. Other species negotiate with them when they need " a job done no questions asked"
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:In a natural state, the Nocere are humanoid appearing and transparent.They communicate through thought mainly however, when necessary, they can speak. They posses the ability to become Air, Vapor, Mist, Water, Rain, Snow, Sleet, Gas..The Nocere do not mate outside of their species as a norm and when it does happen the results of that pairing are exiled. Miaows is an exception. He survives because he outwardly possess’s the traits of the Nocere and he also possess the ability to present as a "regular " earth like human. That feature is seen as a bargaining chip for the Nocerne as he still posses the elemental abilities thus, is valuable.
PERSONALITY Even though Miaows personality is one of a mercenary his fatal flaw is that he cares. ( that human thing) As a result, he is a loner in his group- only given small jobs like killing insects that are destroying crops on another planet. He's always asking WHY ? He needs a cause. Once convinced he will do what is asked with no regret. Additionally, since he is Bi-Species. He wants to experience the Human side of himself - something he can’t do on his planet. So, there is an internal sadness never truly being accepted by his people. He sees being a part of this highly specialized crew as a chance to finally be who he is without judgement and maybe even find love.
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF! The Nocere determines the physiology of another species or what is to be destroyed ( there is no middle ground ) and literally becomes the air or other element that eliminates them. The term " bad air" could apply to them. They can become acid rain that kills off crops. They can become Fog to hide the advancement of one group from another. The elements are quiet danger. Or they become rank gas - which clears a room. Or water - which can destroy almost anything. They are a Quiet Storm.

NAME OF CHARACTER
The Neron are a diverse people but have some traits in common. They are all cat like and have many of the colours associated with cats.
Solan is around average height for a male of his species around 1.93 metres and around 30 years of age in human terms.
Humanoid in shape, he has quite an angular upper body almost triangular in shape but rounded out by muscles. Their legs are digitigrade i.e shaped like a cats hind legs. They have a few cat like features, their ears are like a cats and sit on top of their heads and are covered with fine hairs that match their own hair colour. I don't see them with tails but you can add if you want!
Solan's hair is a burnished deep orangey red with a single black stripe running from the front of his head. His hair reaches to below his shoulders and he tends to tie it back with a simple leather thong. His skin is a smooth hairless pale caramel colour and has faint tiger like stripes on the the outside of his arms, legs and on the sides of his body. He has orange/brown eyes with a vertical, slit pupil which will contact and dilate with the light and often with his mood. His face is quite cat like but is hairfree and has no whiskers. He has sharp canine teeth and will occasionally make some cat like utterances, growl or spit when angry or scared. Or that cute chittering noise cats make when they are told off in place of a grumble. I kind of see him similar to Tygra from Thundercats (I absolutely love this series!!). He is athletic and strong but not bulky. Sleek and quick he fights with deadly precision. Quiet on his feet he is able to stalk and hunt for his prey - no one escapes him once he has their scent. A master at unarmed combat, he uses his retractable claws for slashing. He is also adept at using his tanai - a full length laser sword and he also carries a pair of laser pistols. His clothing consists of a form fitting sleeveless top with a mid neck height collar and a notch cut out in the front. Form fitting pants to the knee and bare feet to allow him to use his claws for climbing and for traction. He favours russet, black or cream coloured clothing. A personal quirk of Solan's is he likes to wear fingerless leather gloves, as he doesn't like to get his hands dirty.
Fastidious and pernickity, do not mess up his stuff or you will be sorry. He has mercurial moods but is extremely loyal to those he calls friend or family. He often will spend time by himself happy tinkering with his engine room. Once you break through his shell he is warm and caring and enjoys a practical joke - as long as he's the one pulling them!
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF!
After a disease outbreak on the neighbouring planet of Experia Prime decimated the population it made its way to Solan's planet 4 generations back. Luckily Solan's people fought it of with an experimental vaccine but it was later discovered that a mutation occured in a small percentage of the population. This mutation renders Solan impervious to radiation. He can also store some radiation and use it as a weapon or manipulate it to create a kind of invisibility shield. His ability to withstand radiation makes him an ideal chief engineer for which he studied hard to achieve his master engineer certification.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Male, 2 meters tall, androgynous (female facial structure, long muscled) attractive to both genders; surprising most male species.
Fair skinned tinged soft pink on sides of face, arms, torso and legs.
Long blonde hair reaching calves, with braids, dreadlocks and waves intermixed. Eyes are sea green in color.
Uniform is skintight cream leather and covering the body entirely but fingers are sheer fabric.
PERSONALITY: Highly logical, seems apathetic but is in fact compassionate
(sometimes to his detriment).
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF: Able to bend light, camouflaging self and others, telepathic: enhancing camouflage, telekinetic (defensive and offensive), empathic. Abilities are kept hidden from his species as he is unique.

description species: they are large by nature, but they can shrink away until they are very tiny. they are in general very kind. that is why they do not have a high position in the alliance.
physical description: molly is has red hair and is very red in general. her skin is beautiful brown and she has gotten a lot of freckles by gardening. her eyes are brown but can can change green with her mood.
personality: she is very positive and helps seeing people a different side of things. her mood is not very reliable; she can get angry reel fast. but she is a very logic person how's determent to help people. she lost her little brother to the Khul so she has to make sure that as few people possible get hurt further.
NAME OF CHARACTER: Qyxialitolaz. NICKNAME: Litolaz
SPECIES NAME: Zyloatalonian
HOME PLANET: Zyloatalon
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Somewhat humanoid in appearance. Taller than Khoth, stands nearly 9 feet tall. Skin appears almost translucent, and shimmers like the rainbow colors on an oil slick or that of the aurora borealis depending on mood. Does not have any hair at all, no eyebrows or lashes either. Has a natuaral grace of movement. Gender unknown.
PERSONALITY: Almost monkish in appearance when arrives, but slowly changes as surrounded by others. Prefers to observe and record others and surroundings. Though normally reserved and quiet, when excited will glow in different degrees of brightness. Shows calmness and wisdom, but great strength in both body and mind.
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF: Can move without appearing to move, floats. Can blend into background and even disappear completely. Prefers speaking telepathically. Has natural navigational skills. Can lift and create things with the mind. May change appearance to an almost blinding light. Can exude calmness in others.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION - I drew it instead of writing. Visuals are more fun for me. I tried to imitate Khoth's background, to give an idea of her height. She be short. (Ran out of spare time to finish it, but I think it gets the idea across.)

PERSONALITY - Chatty. Chatty. Chatty. Has no filter. You tell her something, everyone will know. She is sweet- does not mean to harm. Picks up new languages quickly. Kind of an airhead, but a genius tinkerer. Can throw things together in a pinch. Her species is like the planets' scrappers. They'll take what you don't want and turn it into something amazing. Give her a broken appliance and she is in her glory.

Description of Home Planet: world of stones with various compositions. Nutrition grows in caves only due to chemical/biological reactions.
Physical description: humanoid, young or late bloomer, male, fully-grown: 5‘ 0‘‘ to 5‘ 1‘, bulky build, bold, eyecolor: grey-brown;
Personality: emotional, rapid speech
Special alian stuff: skin colour changes with emotion, later: colourchange by will (camouflage)
Description of Homeplanet: mostly water, under-water cities
Physical Description: humanoid, male, slender build, about 6‘, is able to speak in water and in air, gills on upper back and upper arm plus thigh, webbed hands and feet, shimmering scales but is later figured out as skin with scale-pattern
Might have a suit which has a layer of water in it and covers his gills.
Personality: cool demeanor (even in tense situations), monotone speech

Name: Oralis Dolphan
Species: Oracian (like a Zelda if anything)
Home Planet: Oracianousia - a water covered planet with underwater cities.
Physical description: Oralis is male, his head is shaped like an orcas on the human world. He has legs and arms to hold spears and things when hunting, and a tail that helps him swim. He has webbed hands and toes. 6'2 in height. Colourations depends on what area of the planet they live in, some of his kind live in smaller pods but others live in larger groups. Some travel some stay put, like orcas do on earth with Trans types or resident types. Like orcas on earth, they have different ways to catch prey the same as orcas do. Oralis has gills though, because there isn't much of a surface on his planet. They don't have blow holes like orcas do on earth.
Personality: At first Orcalis is cold towards his other crew, and is teased by Jace alot because he looks like some creature from his home world. But after time he can warm up to people. He's a skilled fighter, on land he isn't use to walking so takes time. He can breath out of water with a special device his people made, it clips like ear pieces over his gills. He's friendlier with female crew members and loves to sing. He's very good at singing. He doesn't understand the need for hair, since he hasn't any.
Special alien stuff: He can use his Sonar to stun people inside or outside of water. He can make a loud shrill sound to also stun whilst he attacks. Hes faster in water then on land. He uses his tail as a weapon either on land or in the water.

Ruled by a queen, spider with scorpion tail that shoots different color with different properties depending on gender.
-Females usually 5 feet tall and warrior. Webs are white or black with properties of acid, flaming, explosive, slicing, binding, and their body is hard plated. Legs have hair the can be sharp as blades at will. They give the birth/ lay the eggs but males tack care of the children.
-Males usually 3 feet tall and are the care gives, builder, and crafters. They have more of a leather armor on the body and can create a calming sent/liquid that is produced from the hair on the legs. Web is any color besides white and black. Characteristics: Healing, building property (soft, can be molded and becomes hard after time), and weaving.
- Only those related to royalty can have 'Din' in the name
- Characters: Twin siblings both about 4 feet tall both are not of the norm for their species and left to find there own place.
-Sahdinna, sister and niece to the queen, Plated armor, no blade hair and has small tail. Web is crimson red, thin as yarn, slightly sticky and absorbs wanted elements. Once absorbed web can becomes harder than most metals and/or burns.
-Repdin- Brother and nephew to queen. Has small piece of plated armor on belly and back( dinner plate size) Leather everywhere else. His fluid/scent can knock anyone out up to a 10 foot radius and time of recovery depends on how much he makes. WEB: Silver, Can neutralize any poison and good at absorbing liquid. Not sticky, more like cloth but when dried it will disintegrate into a powder. Will dry between 1 min to an hour unless woven with sister's web

NAME OF CHARACTER : Ladon and Fafnir
SPECIES NAME: Dracona
HOME PLANET : Draco
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION : This alien species is humanoid / Dragon type.
(Lol if the name didn't give it away)
Dracona come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Dracona have talons fingertips and patches of scaling along their bodies and faces. As well as reptilian slated eyes and sharp teeth. (But don't let that turn you off they're quite sexy 😉)
Adult Dracona have horns and antlers. The types very among their species.
Dracona young are raised together in clutches. ( Family groups made up from different mating pairs.) Dracona believe unity and loyalty within the broods. Bonds are usually formed with nest mates.
They are more physical species, and more likely to be the first to run into battle. But can as well also be intelligent and great at strategizing. ( I believe that the Dracona are part of the alliance. But with they're direct way of show a force and emotions, are considered "Lower class" or "Just above human intelligence". But with their strength and resistance against most weaponry makes them valuable in battle.
So this puts them as one of the minimal planets protected. Dracana often used as cannon fodder in the alliances battles against Khul.)
Height and body size: 7 foot tall with a muscular built.
Coloring: Crimson red scaling with pale yellow antlers like horns. Tan skin and fiery red hair kept med short and spiky.
Eye color: Golden yellow
Ladon is loud and proud and will not hesitate to tell you what's on his mind. He can be snarky and a dick. He never backs down from a challenge. He can get along with people to a point. But is temper can sometimes cause problems. The only one he ever opens up to and treats kindly is his friend and nest mate Fafnir. He's very protective of Fafnir and will defend him with every fiber of his being.
Ladon is a weapons expert, one of the best of his species. He can learn to use and operate any weapon that he can get his hands on in minutes. Also as well highly trained in hand to hand combat.
But because of his "spicy" attitude The Alliance have decided that he was not fightership material. So he was assigned to his planet as a weapons tester only.
This never sat well with Ladon, for the Khul had killed his clutch mates. Only Fafnir and himself survived when the Khul got through Draco's defenses and attack the planet. Fafnir and him were only younglings when Khul slaughtered their nest mates. Ladon and Fafnir just managed to hide long enough until reinforcements from The alliance came to fight back Khul.
Ladon is not giving up and he will find away to kick some Khul Ass!
Height and body size: 5'7 Slender built and agile.
Coloring: Light blue scaling with white ram like horns. Pale fair skin with long Platinum colored hair often wear it in a ponytail.
Eye color : Ice blue
Fafnir is one who would call an introvert and likes to keep to himself. Only slightly muscular Fafnir wasn't a fighter, prefers using his intelligence and wit to win a fight. Does not like to really talk or interact with others. But will at the bare minimum if ask to do so. He's very honest and direct towards people, even if it hurts them. Because Fafnir could cares less about other feelings and thoughts. The only one he care about is Ladon, only Ladon.
Fafnir is highly intelligent and a great strategist. One of the best Draco has seen in along time. His work in reconnaissance and hacking as help The Alliance greatly.
In fact Fafnir was offered multiple times to be on some of the best Alliance ships. Which Fafnir has refused, saying he was needed on his planet more. But the real truth that Fafnir would not go nowhere without his nest mate Ladon.
(Ladon and Fafnir are or on there way to be more the friends or nest mates. Fafnir as always knew his feeling for Ladon. Ladon as feeling for Fafnir, it just took him some time to put two to two together. Even if those two do seem kind of dicks and self-centered, they have good hearts and want to stop the Khul)
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF: Dracona well armored, fast and strong. Mostly fire resistant and cold resistant. Like to eat....a lot. Mate for life but the young are raise together. Dracona have some very powerful weaponry.
Lifespan : Can vary, but most can live to be 500 Earth years.
(I believe the Dracona visited Earth ago. That it was medieval humanity got the idea of dragons. And acted violently towards Dracona and they left. That is why humanity truly named the constellation in the star skies Draco. Because that's what the "Dragons" said they were going.)
Species: Taysaun-- this species tends to live underground or in caves and only travel topside during the day. They are nomadic and don't often interact with others of their kind. They mostly interact with their species when they have sex (which are one night stands) or are around the same resources. The men carry the child and while protective and loving towards their young still maintain a distance. They leave their young at about adolescents to grow on their own. The Taysauns have a lifespan of about 2500 years but will not appear to age the equivalent of 30s. They eat both meat and plants that they find above and below ground. They use tunnels larger animals dig or cave systems that run through the planet to move so that outsiders cannot find them. Taysauns are taught to survive from children and make their own clothes, weapons, and other supplies. All are proficient in using what they have to make poison or medicine. They also interact by leaving messages and drawings for others mostly telling stories, warnings, or of newly discovered resources/medicine. Sometimes Taysaun traveling in the same area will leave messages for specific people as a sort of messaging system and this is their only personal connection. They speak in Trezian. There is no justice system as there is usually no crime. No one needs to steal and there's plenty of natural resources someone would need. All Taysauns can fight and have a liquid way of moving. They hunt every animal on their planet and use every part of the animal in their day-to-day life. Often their clothes are made of fur, leather, and a plant-based material similar to cotton called lo'no. Taysaun don't consider themselves as the top predators as any of the other animals on the planet can easily kill them if they aren't careful.
Planet: Trexis-- this planet has an overall darker tone. The sun is black and emits what seems like a dark light while the moon is red and stars are harder to see. At first glance the planet seems void of more than animal life as its occupants tend to sleep in random caves or empty underground burrows they find. Has animal life both above and below the surface that is mostly hostile. The water is a bronze color and seems to glow while the dirt is still dark brown. The plants tend to be various shades of only dark colors. Underground has a dark blue glowing fungus that acts as light the Taysauns plant at random intervals.
Description: female, looks to be in 20s, 5'4, long wavy dark purple hair to hips, tanned skin, gold eyes with black sclera, slightly pointed ears, black bone-like casing going down the spine, black padding on the bottom of feet, usually seems tired or bored, can be cuddly with someone she really trusts, fingernails are the same tanned color as the skin and sharp almost claw-like. Middle teeth are longer and sharper (almost like fangs) on top while the rest are the same as humans.
Personality: very quiet tending to almost whisper when talking, observant, doesn't like those who take advantage of power positions, very blunt, always tells the truth but never the whole truth, loyal to a fault, will do a lot for sweets, very protective of those she likes, easily annoyed but never truly angry, rather secretive about herself, was left earlier than usual by overly caring parent and therefore thinks others will do the same, curious, cunning and can be manipulative. She respects those who show compassion to those weaker than them and willing to do what's right especially when it's the harder choice. She tends to do things that seem "crazy" or like she has a death wish but she only does it if she's sure she'll make it through.
Alien stuff: padding on bottom of feet makes steps almost silent, bone-like spinal casing acts as extra protection to spine in case of attack from behind, sees in the dark, enhanced senses especially smell, almost seems to disappear in shadows or "wrap" the shadows around them. They have sharper teeth and nails as added defense against animals. They don't produce heat signatures and their skin is cool to the touch. Adaptive to their environment and reads body language easily
NAME OF CHARACTER: Relir Ferza - (Ray-leer Fair-zah)
SPECIES NAME: Chree - (sounds nearly exactly like Tree) The actual pronunciation is too nuanced for many species’ throats.
HOME PLANET: Jonois - (joe-NO-iss [like in hiss])
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION : Chree are orange, but have textured skin that can change pigmentation that allows them to mimic nearly any color, though they aren't that great with blue. (Some Chree attempting to look more like Thaf’ell, change their appearance but end up looking too green or too purple.) They have the ability to alter their body styles and shapes to varying degrees, from being able to alter their facial features somewhat, to being able to simulate bulging muscles (without the strength to go with the fake muscles), to being able to emulate full body chitinous plating.
PERSONALITY: Relir Ferza is, as stated by his local faith leader, ‘blessed with the gift of merchants and lovers, a Chree among Chree.’ the man is CHARISMATIC and a CHARMER. Relir spent his early years working in his father’s hovercraft dealership, selling different styles of the mode of transportation to people with an alacrity that made him well requested. He also spent those early years finding every young heart in his immediate vicinity and having relationship after relationship. Each relationship ended fairly quickly after the initial rush of hormones of new love died down. Relir claims to be a free spirit, loving and embracing his fickle love life, but quickly found he had run out of potential partners that hadn’t already dumped him. With this reality creeping up on him, he set out to the stars and used his life experience with various flight craft, knack for precision shooting, his adaptable personality, and his uncanny ability to read others, even of other species, to forge useful but unconventional connections within any unit that made him a useful subordinate.
His seemingly endless string of exes, some jilted, some dismissive, some hostile, and some desperate, makes him a nightmare of a subordinate, and he is passed around the Alliance forces like a bread basket at a large family gathering. This has caused his network of connections to explode in breadth. However, Relir has stagnated within the alliance, and because he never stays at one command long enough to actually excel long term, he has never achieved his potential in terms of advancing in rank. His dalliances among the stars have made him practically a verb. Many in the Alliance lower ranks know what is meant when this or that soldier is said to have been ‘Relir-ed.’
Relir is not an unkind soul, he is never out to hurt anyone, but has been using his own natural charms to help build positive connections for so long, he finds it nearly impossible to turn off the charm. He also is never rude or cruel to his partners. What Relir doesn’t understand about himself is that he has spent so long adapting everyone around him to ‘make that sale’ to ‘establish that connection’ to ‘win their affection’ that he entirely adapts to his partner, so once the initial rush dies down, they often find they don’t know who he is, and it leads to a breakup.
NOT, of course, without some fairly awkward situations across the galaxy. Relir is a prodigy of the adaptation of Chree culture. He has inadvertently broken hearts across the cosmos. This has prompted Relir to be extremely wary of certain planets, and even some systems where he will not answer the comms for fear of angry family members wanting to address Relir directly, following the breakup. Because Relir always goes above and beyond to adapt to his partner, to the point that he will often alter his appearance to something more appealing to the individual, he sometimes becomes the wistful standard all future relationships are held against. Between the angry ex lovers, the jaded former partners, and the obsessive and regretful past flings, Relir has to be very careful that his natural charms don’t get him in trouble.
Relir relies heavily on his memory to keep his vast network of connections alive. He knows whom he’s done favors for, who he owes, and what soft spots individuals have to be able to finesse normally restrictive systems as easily as Khoth wields a blade. He is also aware of every city and every command where he has left the shattered remains of a relationship behind. Relier doesn’t realize that above all things, he just needs someone to find him, under all his adaptations, and help him find that Chree too.
Relir enjoys teasing others about the pronunciation of his people’s name, versus similar words. For Jace and the other humans, Relir will have endless fun going back and forth with someone jokingly, “NO, it’s not Tree, my friend, I am a Chree. CHREE. Completely different sounds.” It will be great fun, and he will possibly adopt a brown and green motif just to play off their expectations as a visual joke.

Chree’s principle Moon: Venth
Chree Religion: Kelo-kek - (keh-low-KECK [rhymes with heck])
Chree are metamorphic creatures, their homeplanet is Jonois. Their people are only mostly in the alliance because a large tech cache on their planet's largest moon Venth (Ven-th), which features prominently as a protector figure in their religion. The alliance needed to negotiate heavily with the Chree government to gain access to the moon and the cache without inciting the whole planet into a pointless conflict, while they have very little Altaeth compatibility, their weaponry and development is not without its own merit, it just isn’t useful against Khul specifically.
The Chree have been allotted a small contingent for a patrolling force, which stays because of infrequent but notable Khul attacks. Chree as a people are also able to enlist in the alliance, though none of them really hold any real rank thus far because of their low compatibility.
Chree became the dominant species on their planet due to their ability to blend in, avoid conflict, and adapt to exceedingly dangerous circumstances while taking minimal risk. They have a poor reputation among some of the more active and assertive species of the alliance as excellent leaders of the scouting regiments and Support Corps, but also as passive cowards.
On Jonois, the Chree people value the virtues of adaptability and conflict avoidance. Their main faith system of Kelo-kek tells of the history of the planet through a lens of slightly aggrandized historical myth (but what faith doesn’t?) as they tell of Venth, the divine protector, son of the Creation Mother Goddess [hereafter abbreviated CMG] (whose name is sacred and is not used outside of ritual), who took it upon himself to defend the planet of Jonois, where CMG’s most blessed creations, both wonderful and terrible were. Creation Father God flung the stars into the sky, formed the clouds and the rains and built a home for himself and his wife CMG in the sun. In times of great suffering, Venth cast his own lights into the sky and burned the aggressors against the Chree, which it was later learned to be the Precursor outpost, defending the planet from Khul destruction. Venth’s agents (viewed similarly to Earth God’s angels) visited the Chree, and told them of the dangers, and when they were again safe. Venth apparently built his home close to Jonois, to show his love and dedication to the Chree, and that is the large Moon, which is named after him. As the Chree grew to be a space faring people, they found the Precursor outpost on the moon and deemed it a holy place, where any can approach the outer structure and the only door they can open into a barren entry chamber (which had since been given a statue and shrines to both Venth and his named agents) and worship there, so long as they do so respectfully.
As one can imagine, this made the arrival of the Alliance who wanted access to a precursor supply cache, very… tricky. The alliance demanded access to the site and supplies therein. The Chree demanded that if they were going to take the belongings of the Agents of Venth, they would fulfill the Job of the agents and defend their world. The alliance attempted a ‘forceful acquisition,’ but the Chree shielding technology (ineffective against the Khul), cloaking abilities (also fairly useless if the ship is moving at any kind of hasty retreating speed near a khul ship), and unusual techniques that the Chree employed to use a ship’s shield and a ‘tractor beam’ to fling a shielded vessel away like a slingshot (Again, not very useful against the Khul) made for a messy altercation where the Alliance acquiesced for fear of costing themselves more resources than what made the location valuable.

SPECIES NAME: Zigr (ZIG-ir[sounds like ear])
HOME PLANET: Alosit (AH-low-sit)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: The Zigr’s overly large ears and whisker laden full body coats make them sensitive to the slightest sounds and changes in the atmosphere. They are hyper aware of their surroundings and the constant input of stimuli make them a bit… distractible even in normal circumstances.
The facial structure of the Zigr is a bit anthropomorphic in nature, to the human perception. Their heads are more conically shaped under all their fuzziness (there appears to be an area of longer hair somewhat like a mane that separates the significantly shorter facial fur.) in deference to their ears being placed on the tops of their heads. Their hips are wide and slightly rotated as well, ensuring that no Zigr could ever achieve what human military would ever consider “Straight backed standing.” This is because the Zigr can move on both two legs and four, and have the elongated feet structure similar to an earth rabbit. The only thing that no one would ever find on an earth rabbit, is the Zigr heel spur. This hardened, curved protrusion of bone was used as a means of close combat defense, and in the defense of one’s claims to territory or mate, in eons past. Now it is a useful tool in foot combat, and is maintained by any Zigr even marginally trained in self defense.
Their bodies are covered in fur, and part of this fur coat are dozens of longer, thicker hairs that operate like a cat’s whiskers. It makes them sensitive to more sounds than most species are privy to, as well as the most nuanced changes in air pressure, current, temperature, humidity, etc.
Zigr would remind humans of rabbits, they have outrageously large bunny-esque ears ranging from two feet in length with some Zigr that end up with four feet long, the record is a Zigr whose ears outgrew their height, which humans would have calculated at 5’9”, and this Zigr was a tall specimen. As their ears grow longer, the tendency for those ears to flop down or be purposefully held in a lowered position rises. The tendons and cartilage-like substance in their ears can allow for most ears to be held upright or at upwards angles for short periods, but as the size grows, the effort involved does as well. This protective fur coat and hypersensitivity to auditory and atmospheric stimuli means that Zigr typically do not wear much in terms of clothing. Indeed, in order to adequately facilitate a Zigr’s natural sensitivity to it’s greatest usefulness, the Zigr went without armor for centuries in their history, finding their natural defences more useful.
Kataan and Oput are prime examples of their species, from a distinguished lineage that very often made matches based on improving a Zigr’s natural instincts, and they are the result. The Toh’xa family are a respected military family, with a long family history of being on the front lines, but they are also known for having a large family and frequent funerals. The brood they’d been born in totalled six offspring, and their mother had had two similarly sized broods before them, and another after.
Oput knows her family history, she knows what she’s good at, and she knew her life expectancy if she chose to fight. She chose anyways, she takes pride in feeling out an enemy, hearing the smallest sound, and her quick reactions foiling many an ambush, both training, and real. She also loves food, revels in every chance she can get to sample something new and delicious, and never passes on an opportunity to share a treat with friends or family. She’s a foodie, and she knows it, but it is her small way of living her life to her fullest, and her active lifestyle has never put her in danger of losing her combat ready figure. It certainly helps that Zigr are naturally herbivores. The flora of the universe is like her buffet, and she takes great pains to find out which plants would and would not be edible on a new planet before she visits. Oput will find Earth flowers to be a charming delicacy, and snack on a bouquet like another might a box of chocolates.
Kataan always knew his sister would follow in the family tradition. He knew that she was a brilliant scout, and a credit to their family legacy. He knew her presence had saved lives. He also knew that she was going to get herself killed one of these days, just like their Uncle Eton (EH-t-aw-nn). Like their Aunt Pamos (pah-m-OH-ss). Like their grandfathers. Like their cousins and elder siblings. Like their mother, Nenit (Neh-NIT) nearly did. They had been only one equinox from specialty schooling, when they would make the first testing choices towards the starting steps to what they might want to do with their lives. He’d been about to go into the combat training school with Oput when their mother had come back from an attack.
A pilot by specialty, Kataan had never expected to stand over his mother’s injured body, not knowing if she would survive or not. If she went then their father Sinra (SIN-ruh) would undoubtedly follow her to the next plane, his half of their soul unable to survive the reopening of the soul cleaving that had closed up upon their bond. His soul would bleed for her loss, and it would leave his heart with nothing to beat for, so their father’s heart would stop as well. Kataan had seen their orphaning there in his mother’s injured body when the healers had crashed in. He’d been so intent on his mother’s body that he hadn’t even realized he’d jumped out of the way, and they too seemed so intent on her as well that they never bothered to tell him to get out. He watched them work on her, how the lead healer used an unusual amount of whiskers around his hand to apparently suss out further information on her injury, and demanding a tool to remove the shrapnel of the fuel canister that had been missed and would have poisoned her into the next plane. Kataan suddenly knew what schooling he would request at the equinox.
Kataan always knew that his sister would get herself killed fighting out there like so many of his family members had, so he gave her the one thing they never did, a medic right there with her to have her back. The Toh’xa sensitivity turned out to be useful for more than just sussing out enemies. The only thing that Kataan really DIDN’T know is why Oput insisted on his finding a lover, or, even better, a bond mate. Kataan only scoffed at her, he hadn’t been to Alosit in years since they’d left home, the only way he was going to find a bond mate is if there was an alien down for the metaphysical intertwining of his life force to theirs. Kataan knew, that of course, there would be no takers.
Oput rolled her eyes often at her stalwart brother. For someone who ‘knew’ so much, he really was an idiot. He had no idea how unhappy he was throwing himself into his job with no real pleasure hobby. He had no clue how desirable Zigr were in the alliance, at least as partners, due to their stamina and responsiveness. He had no idea how to treat himself well, so long as he was healthy, what else was there? She would often shake her head at him. He really was a fool.
Oput enjoyed life; she enjoyed living, and she enjoyed people. There was so much to be sad about, family losses, the Khul invasions, having to wear full body space suits that enclosed you and your fur and made it so your ears felt like they were stopped up… How had Kataan missed the one real lesson of the universe? Anything could bring sadness, and it was no one’s job but your own to look after your own happiness. So why not live life like happiness was a transient commodity? Sadness would always come. Sadness DID always come.
She often wondered what it would have been like if she had actually gone through with the bonding ritual with Kialia (KEY-uh-LEE-uh). Kialia had been such a joy in her life, and Oput had thought that the other female had been the girl of her soul bond… But the Khul took that away before it could be real. Oput could never decide how she felt about that. Was she happy she’d never made the soul bond and therefore not died of a cleaved soul? Was she sad that she’d never gotten to have that true bond, however briefly? The only thing she did know was that she grieved Kailia. Perhaps there was another soul half out in the universe for her. She wasn’t concerned if it identified as male, female, or otherwise, she just prayed she hadn’t missed her chance.
Just in case she had? She was going to make DAMN SURE Kataan got a decent love life.
SPECIAL ALIEN STUFF!
Their natural practice of Bonding makes it that if one Zigr joins the alliance, but not the other, either neither can leave Alosit, or both must be brought offworld. Even worse, if either one of a bond pair is lost or killed, the other will very likely die of loneliness. Two losses for the price of one.
With the development of higher technology, energy shielding, and the Altaeth advancements, the Zigr started to adjust to some armor, though in the most limited sense possible. Humans would see no end in irony when Viewing a Zigr’s energy shielding rigs: Barely there chest plates, greaves but no gauntlets, one or no pauldrons, heavy armored boots with tactical belts and barely anything in the middle, and to top it all off, thin, flexible lattices that resemble jewelry crawling around the ears and head. Both the males and females of the Zigr would look, to the humans, like they were all wearing chainmail bikinis when wearing traditional Zigr energy shielding armor.
