THE FIRST HUMAN MAGE?

Finley West has always believed in magic and now, having been proved right, he is determined to learn to wield it. But humans have no natural magic and cannot even handle magical weapons. He's never let the impossible stop him. And in this world, where everything now seems possible, he's not going to give up. Determined to get into the Taranth Academy of Magic and the Arcane Arts, Finley has poured himself into learning the history and lore of the high fantasy beings that now live beside humanity. 

But even if he can pass the Academy's test, will he be allowed to study or will he have to find another way--and other teachers--to gain the knowledge he needs to be the first human to master magic.

I can't tell if it was intentional if, with their surnames combined, Declan and Finley are Wilde West. Either way, I got a small laugh out of it (Also, I enjoy how dapper our little nerd is here. ?
